HARRY PARTCH Petals Fell On Petaluma 1967 LP Vinyl CRI
Rare opportunity to acquire this near pristine copy of Californian composer Harry Partch's most revered work. Played by the Gate 5 Ensemble and released on the CRI Records label (Composers Recordings Inc.), this percussion and tuned percussion tour de force was a huge influence on The Residents' own Fingerprince LP, which at times aped Petals quite uncannily. This particular LP was bought in the American Midwest as new old stock by the present owner, and – slight evidence above the flowers of the vinyl's outline through the cardboard notwithstanding – its hard crisp and clean US cover is remarkably new looking . Better still, the disc itself has just been played all the way through and exhibited no problems whatsoever. Many thanks for looking.
