This is the "HATFIELD AND THE NORTH" 1973  UK LP by HATFIELD AND THE NORTH

The was the 1st LP released by HATFIELD AND THE NORTH.

Musically it stills sounds great, with Richard Sinclair (from the original CARAVAN line-up) on vocals.

It also features Dave Stewart (from EGG) on keyboards, Phil Miller, guitar (from MATCHING MOLE) and Pip Pyle (from GONG).

Robert Wyatt (Soft Machine) sings on one track.

The LP was bought on its release in 1973, and is on the VIRGIN label, number V 2008 and has the following matrix numbers & "STAMPERS"

  • Side 1:    V 2008 A-2U "1" "G" + "A" with an "X" over it
  • Side 2:    V 2008 B-2U "1" "R"

Visual

Visually the record is NEAR MINT, superb unmarked vinyl, with no scratches or marks, no spindle marks on the label.

Even under a spotlight it looks like a new record.

Exceptional condition for a 39-year old record.

PLAYTEST

The LP plays superbly,  quiet between tracks, no pops, bangs, jumping or sticking.

Just some feint background noise in the very quiet moments and a couple of soft pips. Playtest grade is EX+

COVER

The cover is a fully laminated gatefold, with all outer and inner surfaces in beautiful condition with a clean high-gloss finish, and is graded EX++,

with only a hint of feint partial ringwear impression on the front and back cover, that is hard to see.

The corners and edges and spine are all excellent.

The record will be packed in a stiff package specifically designed for sending vinyl throught the post, with added protection on the corners
