Michelle Buzz and Lance Shipp have almost brokent the mould here. Just when you thought music had finally succumbed to that slow, painful, terminal illness - the symptoms of which include - lack of originality, catalogue valued higher than new releases, and writing for algorithms not people - along comes Big Disgrace to boot you in the face. Maybe with a clown-sized shoe. Maybe not. Haute & Freddy are so close to unique it's jarring. Nevertheless, their theatrical synth and operatic pop does invoke some comparisons - at times, it's Annie Lennox, then Kate Bush, shades of Katzenjammer are in there, and there's more than a little Men At Work in some of the dancefloor numbers (and that stunning cover). Outrageously confident, unapologetic, and so eccentric it can only be described as human.
