Description
Here we have something distinctly different and rather rare. On offer is an original Liberty EMI Test Pressing of Hawkwind's Eponymous First Album picture disc, which was released about 25 years ago. It is comprised of a standard black vinyl LP with a plain, unwritten green label, plus an uncut card proof of the front and back outer sleeve, and, (the best part), the pic disc artwork which is printed on an outsize paper sheet. This is so attractive I considered framing it. The colours are rather more vivid than the pictures suggest - some colour saturation seems to have been lost when I compressed the images. Even the attached text appears to be affected.
Condition wise, the record is in perfect condition and has, to my knowledge, never been played. The grooves are shiny and stunningly immaculate - check out the unmarked spindle hole! The cover proofs have light edge wear and a small corner crease. The disc artwork itself is immaculate and uncreased except for the very top edge of the A side which has a light crease. There is some creasing and other wear to the outer edges of the very wide border. This is largely because the artwork sheet is actually taller than the card sleeve proofs. Please refer to the photos to check for any other points that may be important to you, the photos form a key part of the description.
