HAWKWIND
"IN SEARCH OF SPACE"
Released in 1971 on UNITED ARTISTS RECORDS, Catalogue number UAG 29202
The LABELS are in excellent condition with several spindle trails visible around the hole visible
in angled light.
The MATRIX numbers end ; A 1 U and B 1 U indicating that it is from the FIRST PRESSING
The VINYL looks in excellent condition with some paper scuffs from the sleeve and a few very
light surface scratches that have no audible effect. I have just play checked this LP and the sound is MAGNIFICENT as is usual with these early pressings. Side One play grades EXCELLENT PLUS on my system; Garrard 401 turntable with SME 3009 arm, Shure V-15 type III Cartridge going thru a Leak Varislope Pre-amp and Leak Stereo 50 Valve Amp then out of a pair of B & W DM 640 Speakers, BLISS !!! Side Two has some light background noise in the few quiet passages, but nothing too serious as to affect the listening PLEASURE , so, in view of this I'd say EX - would be a fair grade for this side.
The "E. J. Day Group" fold out SLEEVE has shelf wear along a portion of all sides and on the corners, and some creasing on the corners, although, it appears that the fold in flap has never been used (see photos). The inside, lyric printed, side of the sleeve is in great condition, clear and clean. This LP has spent most of it's life in storage.
The "LOG BOOK" insert is in MINT condition as I don't think it has been opened, and I don't recall having read it! No creases at all and certainly no marks or writing.
