Description
On offer here is the first album by Hawkwind self titled.99.9% of these albums are seen with a Liberty black label but what makes this mega rare is that it has the famous Liberty blue label.Shortly after release the label changed to black so it is estimated only about 300 have the blue label so it is of great interest to collectors and has a high guide price in the Record Collector Guide Book £350 and sells for more on ebay.
Labels
These are crisp and bright almost as new.There is the slightest trace of spindle wear but it is clear that this record has only been played a few times.There is no name or writing on the label.
Vinyl
I would grade side one as EX+ It plays well throughout with only minimal background noise between tracks typical of these Liberty pressings.I would grade side 2 as VG+. It plays as well as side 1 but in strong light there is a visible but not prominent scuff mark between the end of side 1 and the start of side 2.It has probably been caused by taking the record from the sleeve but it plays without clicks or jumps and is non feelable .Overall I would grade as EX/EXThe record has been cleaned by an expensive record cleaning machine which was not necessary but I usually do this because the disc is never harmed.The matrix is A1/B1 earliest possible although not an expert in this field.However it must be very early because only 300 were pressed.
Sleeve
The sleeve is not laminated and wears easily.There is no writing or marks on the sleeve but there is a normal amount of wear on the top and bottom edges and on the spine.The record number and the word Liberty are fully readable on the spine but there is some wear on nd of the name Hawkwind but nothing to worry about.I would also point out that it would be easy to upgrade the sleeve because as far as I know the black label has the same sleeve and is far more common.To be fair some buyers might consider the sleeve to be VG+ but I would say it was EX and I acquired it as EX so I am happy with the grade but I always offer a full refund if any buyer is unhappy.There are some excellent photographs so buyers can judge for themselves.
Overall I do not think the winning bidder will be disappointed and to give everyone a chance,have allowed a low start price.To be frank,where will you find a rarity like this again ?

I offer free postage to U.K.buyers and the item will be securely packed sent signed for..I will ship worldwide,Europe £10 and the rest of the world £15 but sorry will have to exclude Ukraine Italy and Russia unless the buyer assures me that they are willing for the item to take time getting there and at their own risk but I will send tracked and signed if possible.I have lost parcels to these countries.
