This very early pressing plays to a very high standard with no clicks or pops and only minimal light static which is mainly on the two final tracks but even then it is not loud. Overall the clarity, depth and power of the audio is very impressive and especially on S1.
It could be said that the famous E.J. Day gimmix cover is the real stand-out here. It has to be the 'cleanest' one I have seen and with only very minimal wear and for once none of the die-cut sections are damaged! A superb example. The 24 page Log Book (so often missing) is also in great condition with only a couple of minor 'clean' tears on the front page. The original inner sleeve just has some creasing. I guess this is specifically a second pressing although it still does have the A1U / B1U matrix. It has the Rays (Ray Staff) etching on the S2 run out.

Visual description
The vinyl is between very good and excellent condition because under a bright light I can see some hairlines of which a couple are a little more obvious but not in 'normal' lighting! However, they are superficial as they have no impact on the superb audio. The run out grooves are very clean and the UAR labels are unmarked aside from some spindle wear.
Play Grading
The quiet intro on 'You Shouldn't Do That' plays with stunning clarity, there are only a couple of minor statics, no interference at all. As it builds the playback is superb! There is one static tick only and as Ollis comes in the audio plays with incredible power and depth and no intrusion. The first 'vocal' section is perfect in every way and the sax section is of the same standard. It continues to drive with tremendous power and depth, I cannot fault it. One very quiet tick during the next vocal and a handful of barely audible statics a little further in but you would do well to find them they are that quiet! As the volume decreases the clarity is STUNNING and I only noticed a couple of minor statics. As it builds again the audio is superb and the quieter closing section plays with impeccable clarity once more. A stunning version! From start to finish there are no clicks or pops and this has to grade as Near Mint at the very least.
'You Know You're Only Dreaming' plays with genuine quality once more with no real intrusion. There are a handful of very quiet statics on the opening vocal but again I only mention them to be 100% 'complete' with my grading. There is nothing intrusive here! Every vocal and instrumental section play so clearly with nothing to detract from the audio and for a final track the audio is very strong and clean. There is no inner groove distortion and the quieter closing section plays with wonderful clarity also. I will say Near Mint again but both tracks on this side play to a higher standard than that for the vast majority! As stated this version also ends with a locked groove at the end of S1.

The quiet intro on 'Master Of The Universe' plays so clearly with barely any static and as Brock's guitar comes in the playback is perfect. The opening vocal is just as strong and this entire section plays with stunning quality. The long mid instrumental is as near to perfect as is possible with only a couple of minor statics and the sonic quality towards the end is phenomenal! What is it, phasing? It plays with incredible depth and power anyway. The quieter instrumental that follows has only a couple of light statics and Turner's final vocal the same. This has to be Near Mint overall.
The acoustic intro on 'We Took The Wrong Step Years Ago' plays with stunning precision and the opening vocal is close to that with only 2/3 very quiet background statics. It continues to play with impeccable clarity and depth with no sign of any interference. The mid instrumental is STUNNING and the quieter section that follows is just as impressive. The remainder is of the same high end standard with no ticks, clicks or pops and Mint- is deserved here.
The intro on 'Adjust Me' has a little more static although it certainly isn't loud and by the time the vocal comes in the audio is very clean. From then on it plays with great clarity for the majority and with only minimal light static here and there. No clicks or pops though and overall Ex is about right.
The acoustic intro on 'Children Of The Sun' has only minimal static and the opening vocal is similar, nothing intrusive though. The instrumental passage then plays with clean, strong audio and with no intrusion including the fade out. An Ex conclusion to the album.
The Gimmix Cover, Log Book & Inner Sleeve
This die-cut cover is of course so often found in poor condition but as stated this is the best I have ever seen. The edges are so clean and the three spines are in superb shape also. The 'main' one is stunning and remains 100% legible, the other two have only a couple of minor rubs and the corners have hardly any wear. The all important die-cut sections of the front cover are in superb condition with no splits or tears - only one of the 'corners' has a minor crease and a couple of edges have only minimal rubbing. The back cover is near perfect with only a couple of tiny rubs by the top edge and a small corner crease top right. It unfolds perfectly and the inside of the cover is immaculate without any marking etc. It's not far off Near Mint- in my opinion but I will say Ex++ just to err on the side of caution.
The 24 page Log Book is in excellent shape and only the front cover has some wear - one small tear on the right edge and a tiny one on the bottom edge. However, as you look at the cover you can hardly see them, took me by surprise when I found them! The inside pages and the back cover are incredibly clean with marking or writing.
The original plain white inner has no side splits or tears and barely any marking. Just some creasing here and there.

I will only send items items worldwide via tracked shipping. This provides 'peace of mind' in case of loss or damage. The shipping costs are shown below and combined shipping is always offered. Any over-payment will always be refunded.
The Royal Mail only insure up to a value of £250 so if an item sells for more it may be wise to use a courier service (e.g. Parcelforce or DPD). An extra insurance premium will be required but I will not know the exact amount until the final sale price is known. Because of this I will sometimes have to estimate the cost and this will be shown in the listing. All vinyls are packaged in strong over-sized custom made mailers with plenty of extra cardboard protection. They are placed inside separate poly-lined inners outside the cover so as to avoid seam splits in transit and then placed inside a PVC sleeve to provide even more protection. I pride myself on my high quality packaging as my feed confirms and if any customer has any specific requirements I am more than happy to help.
The mailers I use cost £1.00 each and I will use anything between 3-5 cardboard stiffeners which cost approx £0.18 each. There is also the cost of the poly-lined inner and PVC sleeve to consider, it all adds up! Not forgetting that eBay take 10% of the shipping fee also!!
