Description

Here´s an original copy of HAYMARKET SQUARE - Magic Lantern, released 1968 in the US as a private press on Chaparral CRM 201. Hoho, is this the holy grail or not!? One of the top three US psychedelic monsters for shure and I never saw one offered on ebay yet. 100 were made in 1968 and here is one of them searching for a new home. 

Condition cover: vg(-), a few creases, a bit dirty especially on back, not too bad spine- and cornerwear but seamsplit on top (4 cm). Signed by the band members. Would be vg(+) but some stupid idiot has written "C.S.N. & Y - 4 Way Street" (did he have too much dope or non at all? Who knows? )on top left front with black felt pen (please see photo below). 

Condition record: If you get this one offered on a record fair you'll take it at vg+ easily. It looks fine with some visual hairlines and not too deep marks. But plays with constant sometimes (first minutes of B1) rather disturbing background crackles. Often even vg+ but I have a good feeling when giving a vg-. Of course no sticks or jumps and I think it's better to own this legend in that still enjoyable and collectable condition at payable price instead of searching for a m- copy (where??) and exchange it against your car.....Oh yes, and it's stunning psychedelic music indeed!!!!!!!

I should mention that my gradings are visualy AND audible taken on a Wilson Benesch Act Two turntable armed with Sumiko Blue Point Special cartridge and this combination is absolutely merciless and doesn't lie...I'm just a collector and don't like overgraded records so much...
