Heavy Metal Kids

'S/T'

Atlantic, UK, 1974

K50047

AMAZING MID seventies hard rock unit fronted by the brilliant Gary Holton - a great vocalist and an even better showman. I saw the band many times on the London circuit at the time and they always delivered - more so than on album if the truth be known. Musically its theatrical and relatively complex hard rock with solid riffs and Holton's wonderfully charming dickensian vocal style - imagine the artful dodger fronting the Alice Cooper Band. Absolutely one of my favourite records featuring a handful of classic tracks including 'Hangin' On', 'Always Plenty of Women', 'Rock n' Roll Man' and the sensational 'It's The Same' - an in concert classic this one.

I'll say it now, Holton was one of the truly great British rock front men right up there with Alex Harvey.

Beautiful copy with the illusive poster!

This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.

Pressing: Atlantic, UK, 1974

Vinyl: Nice clean condition. One or two spindle marks but no other signs of any use. Grades as almost shop fresh MINT-!

Cover: No visible signs of use. Issued in a beautifully designed matt finish cover - retains full printers bloom. This a cream coloured cover is always found trashed - I've been collecting records for over 40 years and I can tell you this copy is about as good as it gets. Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, no ring wear, no split seams and no creases. Just some faint ageing spots. Spine is stiff, square and totally uncrushed. Impossible to find like this after 44 years. Grades as a very strong MINT-!

Inserts: Fold out poster - perfect
