Description
HELDON - THE ELECTRONIC GUERILLAS (no label) cover = M- it is a green thick cardboard with a B&W insert that has been stamped with a red #59 to read "THIS IS NUMBER 59 OF AN EDITION OF 100." Vinyl = EX. So, we are talking an exceedingly obscure record here. I recall how utterly fascinated I was listening to this - a Krautrockian power electronics thing happening that was amazing and wonderful to hear, one that I walked away from feeling energized, not unlike some of the most intense of the Fripp/Eno collaborations, for instance. This is as satisfying a disk by Heldon as anything else I have heard by him. The bulk of this lp was a live recording from Paris June 26, 1975, plus a 1982 studio recording to round it off. And if that is not yet enough to convince one that this should be in their collection, when held up to the light, the vinyl pressing is actually the deepest of deep blue translucent vinyl interspersed with glittery sparkles. I can only believe that this was produced by an ardent fan wanting to share with others interested in Heldon - and limiting the edition creating a certain sense of - hmm, exclusivity - maybe? Whatever, hats off to them; I have enjoyed this disc and I wax ecstaticly because this is one of those lps where "parting is such sweet sorrow".
