Active mostly in a short-lived but productively explosive four-year period (1974-78), Paris electronica something-tet Heldon, led by guitarist Ricard Pinhas, surge back onto the dais here with a new reissue of their sound-defining LP Always Rock'n'Roll (Heldon III) marking its 50th anniversary this year - on first release, it rounded out one of the band's earliest album trilogies. The record weaves electronica and rock in an impenetrably strong chain-link fence, from the mechanical pulse of 'ICS Machinique' and the hallucinatory 'Cotes de Cachalot a la Psylocybine' to the sprawling synth arcs of 'Aurore' and the tenser stretches of 'Doctor Bloodmoney'.
