RADIO SHOW TRANSCRIPTION DISC FROM THE ARMED FORCES RADIO & TELEVISION SERVICE.   TWO COMPLETE RADIO PROGRAMS ON THIS 16 INCH, VINYL, 33 1/3 RPM DISC.  THIS DISC WAS ISSUED TO ARMED FORCES RADIO STATIONS FOR BROADCAST TO U. S. TROOPS AND NOT AVAILABLE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC.  VERY RARE!   

"Jazz Is My Beat" radio program #40 from April 29, 1960 hosted by Jim Lowe featuring music by Elliot Lawrence & His Orchestra with guests Helen Carr (singer) & Tyree Glenn (vibraphone)  Songs by Elliot Lawrence & His Orchestra include "I'm Going To Sit Right Down And Write Myself A Letter", "Don't Worry 'Bout Me" vocal Helen Carr, "Limehouse Blues" Tyree Glenn vibraphone, "The Pretty One", "What A Difference A Day Makes" vocal Helen Carr, "Sinbad The Sailor" Tyree Glenn vibraphone, "I'm Winging My Way Back Home".   All performances are live, with the guests performing with Elliot Lawrence & His Orchestra.  Personnel identified in Elliot Lawrence's orchestra include Johnny Pepper (clarinet), Chris Giffin (trumpet), Sam Shoobie (bass), Joe Bennett (trombone), Howard Smith (drums).     Both Helen Carr and Tyree Glenn are interviewed by Jim Lowe, Paul Knopf explains "Knopfian Jazz".  AN EXCELLENT LIVE JAZZ PROGRAM!   25 minutes

 Disc is in Very Good- condition with many surface scratches.  Disc plays with no skips and sounds better than it looks, Very Good or better sound
