Vinyl - Near Mint Minus     the only flaw separating this from a straight NM / NM+ is a small smudge / scuff / - mostly superficial on Side 2 from approximately the last third of Track 2 "Broken Dreamer" and about the first sixth of Track 3, "Fool's Gold". This modulates only faintly in a few areas, primarily intermittently during the portion of "Fool's Gold" that I noted. Even so, it is so nominal that if you are listening more to the music than the record, it may escape your attention. It does not affect the basic fact that this LP as play tested, is still a 9 or better on the quiet scale (10 being perfectly silent).

I have taken as detailed a photo as is possible of the flaw I've just described. Please view all photos provided carefully before bidding.

The sheen and gloss to the plating is outstanding and the record is professionally cleaned & turntable ready.  Please see photos provided for detailed images of the labels Side 1 and 2.

Jacket - Excellent    very light shelfwear, light ring impression but extremely light color loss in only a few small areas. Light edgewear - very little on the top seam and a modest amount on bottom seam. A little creasing. All solid seams. Has original lined innersleeve as shown in photo.

More or less a vehicle for Anderson's songwriting output (he wrote all of the album's material), Hemlock sounds by no means artificial or put-together. Rather, they were a typical British blues act, without the requisite posing. Naturally, the atmosphere is very serious and dominated by Mick Weaver's** passionate organ-playing.

"Mr. Horizontal" has been included on the "Progressive Pop Inside The 70s" CD.

The only album ever released by this outfit (Hemlock) is truly one of the 70s British rock's hidden jewels - now available on CD!  Soulful, melodic and unpretentious, this was the next career step for Miller Anderson who'd left Keef Hartley Band a year earlier, and could easily be construed as his second solo album (you wouldn't be too far off the mark thinking that it was, anyway).  It had all the right ingredients for success, however, it failed due to miserable promotion and the general lack of effort on behalf of Deram
