superb UK original mono Jimi Hendrix Experience LP

plays perfectly throughout with splendid power and startling clarity - loads of upfront mono presence, gutsy bottom end and crystal-clear, razor-sharp highs - completely silent linking grooves! - from a large and predominantly unplayed archive collection - this beauty is almost completely mint and as-new - it would appear from very careful examination of the thicker, 1st pressing record, based on some 35 years collecting experience, that side one has been played perhaps two or three times and side two not at all - the surfaces are as close to total mint as you can get, with that astonishing blazing, jet black, high gloss, mirror-like shine only to be found on true mint records - not even any of the finest of minimal hairlines usually visible under very bright light - in fact there are barely the very, very slightest signs of an almost invisible paper scuff or two, even when closely inspected under 500 watts of illumination - absolutely nothing! - these are the original rougher textured labels in fine, crisp, bright, sharp, mint condition with wonderful microscopic silver ‘flecking’ to the matt black paper from the (then) relatively primitive printing process used to apply the ‘Track Record’ silver-lettered logos plus all artist and title details and composer credits - the beautiful laminated sleeve, designed by David King and Roger Law, is just as it would have been when first purchased - a heavyweight 1st version with ‘flipback’ cover flaps on the inside upper and lower edges, the lamination extending over these flaps - the inside lower right corner has the neat mono and stereo designations for both pressings - totally crisp and as-new, just as it would have been more than 36 years ago when this cover first came off Ernest J. Day’s London printing presses ready for December 1967 release - the external gatefold displays glorious, blazing, vibrant colour of quite literally stunning intensity - mirror-like super glossy lamination makes the cover pretty difficult to photograph - it is truly superb - no circular wear (not even to the matt interior), no splits, no chipping to the laminate, no warping, no bends, no gouges, no scuffs, no writing, no stickers, no stains, no marks, no creases, no bumps, no dents, no fading, no yellowing, no peeling laminate, no repairs - the spine is perfect - wonderfully flat and mint with no stress or stretching to the lamination - please note: unlike many sellers, I NEVER open sleeves completely flat for photographic purposes - this is irresponsible vandalism - it will almost certainly cause spine lamination to begin splitting and even unlaminated spines receive excessive wear and stress to the fold when (stupidly) it is done - lesson over! - the opening (record insertion) edges are completely straight and unfeathered as are the leading edges of the front gatefold - interior ‘flipback’ flaps perfect, indeed the entire black and white centre layout, with its powerful group photograph by Donald Silverstein, is dazzlingly bright, clean, crisp and, yes, I’ll have to use that word again - perfect! - it is simply superb - THIS ONE REALLY IS SOMETHING SPECIAL - the gorgeously bright, almost luminously iridescent orange gatefold ‘poster’ insert (only a few hundred of these are believed to have been printed) is in exceptional and unbelievable mint condition with NO handling wear at all - NONE! - no creases or marks - the corners are absolutely razor sharp - fantastic red psychedelic lettering and white ‘polarised’ photo of the group with all song lyrics also in red - completely amazing! - the original and correct poly-lined plain white inner bag, with mid-blue British patent numbers and ‘Made In England’ lettering is in creamy white, mint condition and completes this immaculate total package which has been so carefully and sensibly preserved - always together and absolutely intact for three and a half decades - over 36 years old but still like new - it even still SMELLS brand new! - I urge any serious Jimi Hendrix collector to consider placing a bid since a very near 100% faultless example such as this will probably never be seen for sale again - PLEASE BID EARLY
