HERB ALPERT Rise
New And sealed Vinyl Record
Record Label: A&M Audiophile Series SPJ 4790
A&M Audiophile pressings were limited editions mastered at half-speed by Stan Ricker and pressed in Japan on Virgin Vinyl. This series was distributed through A&M Canada. The catalog numbers remain the same, except the "SP-" prefix is changed to "SPJ-". The label was a yellow/grey/red variation of the white/silver/tan A&M label of the 70's. These audiophile LPs are among the best sounding versions of these albums available on vinyl.
Record is new and still sealed in it's original plastic sleeve with audiophile A&M sticker on the back. Plastic sleeve looks to have had a sticker removed which leaves some residue on it. Plastic is also a bit cloudy. Otherwise, mint.

Review: The Rise album was conceived in 1979 after the worldwide success of both the 7" & 12" version of the single "Rise," which became a huge hit song on sales charts, radio, and in dance clubs throughout America, Europe, and Japan. Rise was the first album to be recorded digitally on the 3M 32-track digital recorder at Alpert's A&M Records studios.
A sample of "Rise" is the entire musical groove of the 1997 number-one worldwide hit song, "Hypnotize", recorded by The Notorious B.I.G. and co-produced by Sean "Puffy" Combs. The sample is credited on both the single, "Hypnotize" and in the liner notes for the Notorious B.I.G's album, Life After Death.
