Description
For auction is "HERB ELLIS Meets JIMMY GIUFFRE," on Verve MG V-8311, MONO, DG, 1959. With Bud Shank, Art Pepper, Ritchie Kamuca, Jim Hall, Stan Levey, others.
SOUND: VG+ or better
It has been machine-cleaned and I listened to both sides completely. Overall, the playback is excellent. The only issue is faint surface noise throughout, which is hardly noticeable except during quieter passages. Even then, not distracting. Very enjoyable listening experience, and a very cool performance!
VINYL: VG+ or better
Visually, the vinyl looks very clean and in nice condition. There are a few faint scuffs that appear completely superficial. The deep-grooved, black/silver "trumpeter" labels are nice, but there are some heavier spindle marks on side A.
JACKET: VG+
The spine and edges are solid with a little routine wear. Three corners are nice, the upper right has a little bump. Both front and back covers are very clean and unmarked, with only minimal, routine wear or aging. There is a tiny area on the back that is stained with a glue-like substance, hard to the touch. Just mentioning it for completeness. Very minor in the grand scheme...

Very cool "West-Coast" performance. Great condition, plays well! No reserve, bidding starts at $15.
Every record I auction has been cleaned on a Nitty Gritty vacuum/cleaner. I played every record to determine if there are static, tics, pops, hisses, what have you. I endeavor to thoroughly report any extraneous audio "noise" or problems of any significance. Other than that, I will report on the general condition of each record, both vinyl and jacket, according to Goldmine standards, to the best of my ability.
Every record is put into a new, clean sleeve insert. In the case of an interesting original sleeve insert, I'll include that in the sale.
If you're into this stuff, you might want to save me to your seller's list and check back periodically. I'll be putting a lot of vintage jazz records up for auction.
