Up for auction is the rare vinyl LP record HI-FI NEWS & Record Review Test Record. #HFN001.
It is an essential record for anyone who has a turntable or knows someone who does; for precise Phono Cartridge set-up.
This record has never been played or used. It is equal for all intents & purposes to a ‘Brand-New Factory Sealed Copy’.
This record has been stored upright inside a special resealable protective mylar sleeve. It is kept inside a ricepaper sleeve.
Pressed on to 180-gram virgin vinyl.

The overall condition is PERFECT, Flawless. That is everything; the record, cover & accompanying paperwork.
This is complete with all that came with it. Includes the cartridge Alignment Protector & the very detailed explanation sheet about just what happens with vinyl analog sound reproduction & what you can do about it.
This is the original HFN Test LP, first pressed in 1996. Produced by Len Gregory, The Cartridge Man. This has sold an amazing 10,000 copies around the world.
This is an Audiophile pressing on 180gm virgin vinyl. The resulting mechanical quality is excellent, flat, stable and quiet, everything that an audiophile pressing should be!
In total, there are 16 tracks. Side one covers channel identification and phasing, pink noise, and bias settings (Four tracks at increasing amplitudes). Side two contains tracking ability bands at the outside, middle and inside of the disc, cartridge/arm resonance and alignment tests, full frequency (20Hz-20Khz) test and a residual noise test. All bands are separated by locked grooves.
The package is completed with the inclusion of a unique, multi-discipline, alignment protractor, a truly universal device that can be used to set up all sizes and types of arm to fine degrees of accuracy, a reprint of the seminal article by John Crabb on the theory and practice of arm/cartridge alignment, and copious sleeve notes to take the user through the set up procedure step by step.

This kind of a high -quality rare, out of print item is very hard to find anywhere now days!
I personally purchased this BRAND NEW in early 2000 & never used it.
There are no finer copies of this one out there at any price!
