PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. Thank you for your interest and support. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

ORIGINAL 1973 ACID ARCHIVES PRIVATE FIRST PRESS MEGA-RARE!
..
The MERRY AIRBRAKES
USA - PRIVATE PRESS -(ST GEORGE INTERNATIONAL)
MEGA RARE , was but a very limited private press back in 1973, now-days the ORIGINAL Merry Airbrakes LP is an authentic sought collectible ... as a 1973 first print, not in many collections, we can safely say....
Watermelon Slim (his real name is Bill Homans) was the cat responsible for the Merry Airbrakes album. "Slim" was born in Boston but raised in North Carolina, where, he says, he was first exposed to the blues at the age of five.
He sang in choirs and glee clubs as a child, but he began seriously turning to music after a tour of duty in Vietnam that ended in 1970. He independently released the furiously antiwar album Merry Airbrakes in 1973.
Recorded in 1973 by the freaked out Vietnam veteran, "Watermellon Slim" wrote largely a concept album about the great Vietnam USA misadventure. The LP is bluesy with wicked slide-guitar, that while won't make you forget Duane Allman, still grabs attention of the listener. Elsewhere you'll find tracks that grow on you with repeat listens, some even "down-home" which might be fitting for playing whilst sitting around a fireside. Main-man Bill Homans has a fine voice while working that mean slide guitar.
This very rare private press was actually the first post-Vietnam record with songs about the Vietnam's point of view. Certainty talented enough & strong enough to make one wonder why a major label never signed the crew. Watermellon Slim has a great voice ithat gets on you, the listener. He and his brother Peter plus 4 other musicians recorded this album for a private studio with hopes in getting attention from a big label, which unfortunately never happened. Some songs sound like Captain Beefheart & The Magic Band circa 1970 doing Vietnam songs with Winged Eel Fingerling's far-out guitar, other tracks are fragile and MOST beautiful. The few collectors who managed to get hold of this rarity tend to love it! love it

CONDITION: The cover: rated: M- first thing that strikes you is what a BEAUTIFUL copy this is, the cover, prone to dirt and soil is fabulously CLEAN, looks SO shar, front & back with 4 sharp corners. There are no delete marks, no split seams, no bends, and no writing ... VERY collection worthy ...
The vinyl: Rated: "EX" (excellent) no more than what amounts to a few very slight inner paper sleeve "brush strokes" visible. That would amount to nothing that affects the excellent (minty) audio throughout. This is a top copy overall, make no mistake. Both St George International labels are spotlessly-clean
A cool addition to anyone's music library!
