HIPPIE INVASION Bollywood PSYCH 45 reefer cover art Click here to listen to a MP3 SOUND CLIP
What the hell did Indians think of the invasion of thousands of hippies in the sixties?? To the happy dreamy youngsters India was one big spiritual adventure. And the Gurus, Yogis & Godmen just followed their ancient tradition: a splendid opportunity for fat cash and free sex!
And the film industry of course exploited the hippie-thing also. And came up with HARE RAM HARE KRISHNA. And that craze was exploited again by couple of another films. Like this very obscure, totally C-grade exploito film. Undoubtly about the dangers of drugs, and in the meantime showing tons of parties & orgies. See the guy with a huge spliff on the cover!
Fantastic music by the c-grade hindi trash beat composers Sonik Omi. One side is of the cute and beautiful kind. The other side has the hot stuff on it, in the R.D. Burman Psych vein: innovative rhythms, wah wah guitar & wah wah hammond, freaky organs surf guitars, latin style bongos, etc.
ODEON INDIA 1972 EMOE 2149. Sleeve VG+ record unplayed plays with some noise due to pressing.
