Description
This is an auction for a 78 Columbia record ( # 9414 ) of King George V's speech at the opening of the Tyne Bridge.
It has plenty of scuffs / scratches etc, as well as quite a lot of foxing. There are also a few chips / knocks / dings etc along the edges.
The side of the disc with the speech recording has a lovely etching depicting the bridge with two crests at the bottom, along with the date.
On the other side the label reads 'An Address of Welcome' to the King at the opening by W Swinburne, Town Clerk of Gateshead. This side is blank with just the label.
I no longer have a turntable to test the audio quality, so have tried to get good close up pictures so you can get a good idea of the condition.
Record is in a plain brown sleeve, which is quite tatty, creased & ripped in places.
