An HMV 104 table grand wind-up gramophone in oak case.
I have for sale a good example of the HMV table gramophone Model 104 in an oak case. It was my grandmothers but I have no use for it and would like to see it go to someone who would appreciate it and get enjoyment from the records included.The HMV 104 is one of the two best table gramophones that were made from 1931, the other being the model 130. This model has the smaller, single spring, motor, an automatic brake, 10" turntable and No. 5A sound-box. The lid stay is the "one-handed" version.
The case I believe is oak which is dark and has its original gold cloth behind the grille at the front. There are a few imperfections and I have tried to list these. I also have 20 - 30 records of various musicians that will go with it and a supply of new needles.
- Small area of repair to Left edge of upper lid.
- Some thread bare areas to original gold cloth at front.
- In need of some general TLC and a good polish !
