Description
Beethoven Symphony No. 9 in D Minor, Op.125 (The Choral Symphony). Wilhelm Furtwangler conducting the Orchestra and Chorus of the 1951 Bayreuth Festival (live). Stunning performances (the best adagio?)!!!
His Masters Voice semi circled labels. Made in Holland. Cat. ALP 1286 and 1287. Stampers are 2XRA 16-2N, 2XRA 17-2N, 2XRA 18-2N, 2XRA 19-3N (the same as the UK pressings). Cover ALP 1286 VG++/EX- (a small piece of the front of cover is missing, see picture, otherwise NM-). Cover ALP 1287 EX++ (minor shelf and ringwear). Record ALP1286 VG+ (a couple of hairthin marks cause about 20 not loud tics). Record ALP 1287 EX (a couple of harmless hairthin marks. The record have about 12 soft isolated kind off "static" tics not related to a mark. This will probably benefit from more playing. The second time I played it the static tics were already less (first time about 15 tics) and softer). Both records have now and then soft backgroudnoise due the old pressing (graded with a stereo cartridge).
