Mint - only if record is sealed and never played regardless of visual
Near mint - clear shiny vinyl, looks unplayed - may have the odd minisule mark but rarely
Excellent - clear shiny vinyl, maybe one or two small surface / needle marks
Very good - a few light surface marks
Fair - no deep scratches, quite a lot of surface marks, slightly dulled
