MAHLER

Symphony No.9

Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra/BARBIROLLI

HMV Records "ASD 596/ASDS 597" UK 1964

Orig Stereo 2LP (Matrix 2YRA 13-1/2YRA 14-3/2YRA 15-3/Side 4 is Blank with 3 Etched HMV logos) with Front Laminated Flipback Sleeves, Semi-Circle 1st Pressing Labels.  Both come with their Original Inner Sleeves.

Sleeve (ASD 596) is in VG Condition with clear text on spine.  Has some creasing, light marks & discoloration.

Sleeve (ASDS 597) is in VG- Condition with a small rub on the spine text otherwise ok . Has some creasing, light marks and a bit more discoloration on the back than the other sleeve.

Records only look in Fair+ to Good Condition with lots of scratches & scuffs.  Both play through ok with some light to medium crackle & pop. Side 2 has a feelable scratch that produces a few louder pops. Might play better with a deep clean? I'm selling as I found them.  No writing or stickers/sticker marks on the labels. A Rare Set at a cheap price.

RECORD GRADING

MINT                         The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality.  The cover and any extra items such as lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.  Records advertised, as Sealed or Unplayed will be mint.

EXCELLENT             The record shows some signs of having been played, possibly with light surface marks but there will be very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD +         The record may have scuff marks and signs of some wear but will still play almost perfectly throughout, with only barely detectable crackles or pops.  A slight noise at the beginning is allowable, but the remainder must be nearly flawless.  Definitely no scratches or gouges that a touch with a dry finger can feel. The cover may only have the slightest signs of normal wear.

VERY GOOD            The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD                        The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches.  The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

Sometimes + or - will be used  to denote slightly higher or lower grades
