Up for auction is this stunning copy of Butterfly which is hardly ever offered these days and certainly not in such superb collectable condition. The vinyl is as close to NM as you could get and has barely been played coming from a collection which has been looked after for decades and stored the proper way inside a PVC sleeve standing straight on purpose made shelves. The sleeve is also in great EX condition.
It's a bright and colorful album, one incredibly misrepresented by a grey-brown Silence of the Lambs looking moth thing on the cover. I mean we're talking an album with tracks as ridiculously attractive and hippie cornball as " [I'm] Pegasus [the flying horse]!". It should have been decked out in rainbows! Now as much as I talk up Nash as central, but the other guys contribute some of the cooler tracks as well, my favorite overall probably being Would You Believe which takes a sort of Wall of Sound approach to an already great melody to make a overwhelming sense of romance and great 60's jangle. It's a lovingly made album basically, it sounds like the Hollies have finally really arrived, sounding even more confident and accomplished than For Certain Because. Such a shame Nash flew the coop and the rest seemingly collapsed into irrelevance. After this they'd take a year off....then the next new release was an album of Bob Dylan covers. Oh well, I can now really glance at the Hollies and sum them up as definitely tertiary in terms of the Brit Invasion forces. Hardly relevant in any way, but they did make two great little albums at least. Sunny colorful 1967 era music is stuff to treasure and in that column you gotta give this one a listen. Any fans of the lighter side of the late Beatles, Zombies, and Monkees should make sure to take this with them. (From: rateyourmusic.com)
Vinyl: EX+. A splendid heavy vinyl that sounds marvellous all the way through. Probably just played once or twice at most. It has only a couple of wispy retraction type paper traces and one wispy hairline under a strong light. . A beautiful glossy sheen and this vinyl looks as if it was bought just last week!! Incredible. A totally well cared for album which are few and far between for this album. Of course this is the earliest ultra heavy quality vinyl being an original first press with the very first matrices and earliest mother stampers. Not very many out there left now so late in the day .... how many would there realistically be in this gorgeous condition?? Most copies found these days are trashed and unworthy. One side has the embossed "KT" tax code. What a delight to find this stunner! Tested on my trusted Linn Sondek/Rotel/Technics set-up and it sounded fantastic! Of course NO skips, NO pops, NO jumps or sticks.
Sleeve: EX. An original Garrod & Lofthouse single sleeve with the three flipbacks to the rear. Front laminated and there is not any crease worth mentioning. The more vulnerable unlaminated reverse side is also in fantastic EX condition. NO writing NO marks or smudges etc. Get this while you still can. I don't think I will see another one for a long long time. Nearly every psych collector will be utterly pleased with this stunner.
Important : International postage will be registered and insured if over GBP 20.00. These fees in England have gone up significantly last May. Please wait for my invoice before paying. Postage will be according to Royal Mail rates. Postage is NOT a money spinning exercise for me.
Though there are rarely ever any problems with my items, I always try my very best to describe everything exactly! PLEASE REMEMBER to contact me FIRST, if you have any problems at all, before you leave feedback and star ratings, so I get a chance to turn any negative experience into a positive one! I can always happily sort anything out for you, if you let me know you have a problem! This way no one has to leave Negative/Neutral feedback - and we both walk away happy! Similarly with the amount of stars, anything less than a full 5 * rating is effectively detrimental to a seller's rating as lower ratings will incur higher Final Value Fees and lower priority in the bidlists eventually making it unattractive to list items on Ebay at all. I know of at least one major previous Ebay seller who has decided not to list via Ebay again. Please do NOT bid if you cannot give me at least 1 chance to sort everything out to your FULL satisfaction in the unlikely event of a problem. Thanks again!!
This an excellent investment opportunity!!! Any questions please ask me and I will try to answer soon.
