THE HOLLIES: Bus Stop / Don´t Run And Hide (´66 / extremely rare German EXPORT issue for Switzerland / ODEON O 923235 / this export issue has yellow labels as opposed to the green labels of regular German Odeon singles and a "9"-prefix to the German number / on both sides of the p/s the original German numbers ("O 23235") have been overprinted by the Swiss company (the original German numbers are hidden under the thin black horizontal "stripes" top left on the frontside resp. top right on the backside) / then the "Club Edition" imprint and the prolongued Swiss numbers ("O 923235") were added / according to my informations the records were actually pressed in Switzerland, while "finished" picture sleeves were imported from Germany and then these sleeves were overprinted in Switzerland to make some changes, as described above (in retrospect this seems to be a rather "strange" method, as this is a bit complicated and obviously this would have been done in a different way in later years; but it was the 60´s, and back then the factor "human work" (and its costs) was looked upon from a very different perspective!...) / one thing is sure: this Swiss pressing was only manufactured in very small quantities, my estimation would be a maximum of 1.000 copies, but maybe it was even less than that number!)

DESCRIPTION:

the p/s has some wear at the top opening, as the sleeve had been sealed in the middle of the top opening: on the frontside that seal has been removed without taking too much care, and this has caused two tears into the top, a longer one left to the removed seal, which has a clear tape on it, and a small one right to the removed seal / on the backside the seal is still there, and it has become a bit discoloured by age - there are also two tears into the top of the backside, which have been taped on the inner side of the top opening / the top opening has been stabilized on the inner side in the middle on both sides (but this is invisible from the outside) / there´s another - slightly smaller - discolouration on the top of the back sleeve: obviously there once was a small sticker below the clear tape, which has been removed / apart from the wear at the top, which has been described above, the p/s is in very nice condition, as the sleeve has only a light to very light ringwear / the only other notable mistakes are a small tear from the right seam into the frontside of the p/s and small seam splits on the right side and at the bottom (the splits are just beginning, only ca. 1 cm length each) / the vinyl is in very nice condition with a few hairlines, but without any serious scratches / as you will see in the scan, the A-side label looks a little bit blurred in small parts: (without being able to tell, if it really happened that way) I presume, that the label was imprinted twice, first in a very "soft" way (like "trying out", as if someone was checking, if the text would be in the right place), then the angle was changed a bit and the printing was done again, this time in a stronger way
