During the 50's and early 60's, the UK London label released demo copies of their catalogue as single sided discs and it's increasingly hard to find an original pairing of both the 'A' and 'B' side together. Eventually released as catalogue # HLU 9146, we have on offer the following 1960 pairing from THE HOLLYWOOD ARGYLES;
DISC 1: "ALLEY - OOP" with Matrix # MSC 4449-1C that remains in excellent plus condition and plays perfectly throughout with the lightest of crackle on the run-in and run-out groove and and with minimal light sleeve rubs that don't affect play. This copy has the solid centre and the label is extremely clean with minimal ring wear and with written annotations in the form of the running time and a factory rubber stamped catalogue number. There is also evidence of a radio station sticker removal within the slightly darker orange area towards the top of the label (see picture scan 1).
DISC 2: "SHO' KNOW A LOT ABOUT LOVE" with Matrix # MSC 4450-1C that remains in excellent plus condition and plays perfectly throughout with the lightest of crackle on the run-in and run-out groove and with minimal light sleeve rubs that don't affect play. This copy has the solid centre and the label is extremely clean with minimal ring wear and with written annotations in the form of the running time and a factory rubber stamped catalogue number. There is also evidence of a radio station sticker removal within the slightly darker orange area towards the top of the label (see picture scan 2).
Paired with a period original company paper sleeve and a very nice example for the London label collector.
