Description
This is a fine copy from a numbered, limited edition 1996 reissue of the rare second LP by Christian rock group the Holy Ghost Reception Committee #9, originally released in 1969. The NYC group play mostly folk-based rock (reminiscent of the early Blues Project, to my ears), though they verge on psych on the fuzz-driven "Know They're You" and the percussive "Hey Lord." This release represents the first time the LP was reissued in any format, and the only time to date that it has been reissued on vinyl. The record is housed in a generic white jacket with cover slicks pasted on the front and back covers. The back cover slick has some rippling (see photo), but otherwise the package is close to pristine (EX+). Visually, the disc is clean. The source disc plays with some mostly light surface noise. Graded visually: M-. The record comes with a two-sided insert (M-). This copy is #343/500.
I’m in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
