This is an EXCELLENT copy of this desirable TAMPA Jazz album, "THE MARTY PAICH QUARTET featuring ART PEPPER", in VG++ Condition. This is Quintessential Mid Fifties Jazz at its best. The performances are legendary, and the sound of this LP is simply stunning. Features ART PEPPER, Alto Sax, MARTY PAICH, Piano; BUDDY CLARK, Bass, and FRANK CAPP, Drums.
This LP was released in the mid 50s. This LP is virtually MINT, truthfully, although Im conservatively rating it VG+++/Excellent. The Laminated Jacket is in VG condition, with solid spine. The bottom seam has a small opening, where clear tape is there from a previous repair which can be easily steamed off by a knowledgable new owner. The top seam is intact, with some light fraying, and a small piece of clear tape at the opening, about 1 1/2 inches. There is also a small square of the SURFACE ONLY ( about 1 inch by 2 inches) of the back cover that has been neatly removed (possibly a sticker was there with the original owners name on it and the next owner removed?). (See pictures). Not a big deal, but I have conservatively graded the cover VG because of it. This doesnt seriously detract (in my opinion), from the beauty of the cover, or the desirability of this RARE Jazz LP! There is also a small purple "check" mark in the upper right corner of the back cover (see picture). The classic photos, probably by William Claxton, and the graphics, are sharp and clear. The labels are clean, with very slight spindle marks. This Lp looks BEAUTIFUL. The LP itself is heavy thick vinyl associated with these early-mid 50s pressings, and it has the FLAT EDGE!
I am a Jazz Pianist and Recording Artist, and have been collecting Rare Jazz LPs for many years. This is one from my personal collection. I assure you, all the LPs I will be offering here have been meticulously taken care of, and only played rarely, on a Sota Sapphire Turntable, with a Grado Reference Cartridge. They have been kept inside a temperature controlled room in my home, in plastic dust jackets. In other words, you can bid in confidence, knowing these LPs come from someone who has loved them and babied them. I reluctantly am beginning to sell some of my LPs, and hope they go to someone who will love them as I have.
All LPs will be carefully packed in proper LP boxes, well protected,and sent USPS Media Rate, unless specifically needed sooner. We can send priority mail if desired. Shipping costs are always based on your location. I do not add "handling"fees, costs will be exactly as I am charged by the shipper of choice. LPs can also be sent Fed-Ex ground, if preferred, although this can be a bit more expensive. Good Luck!
