Holy Mackerel

'S/T'

CBS, UK, 1972

65416

AT ONE POINT CBS UK were awash with killer rural rock bands including Tranquility, Home, Glencoe, Starry Eyed And Laughing. Holy Mackerel fitted in very nicely with a solid pedigree including vocalist Terry Clark who had served time in coveted heavy rockers Orang-Utan and guitarist Derek Smallcombe who went on to join heavy rockers Samuel Prody. With that sort of talent you can be sure that this album is a great slice of rural country into harder rock. Apparently they were originally based in Kent before moving up north in Lancashire.
