HOPE CONSPIRACY / SUICIDE FILE - Dead Man's Hand Volume One
"MAYO" vinyl out of only 15!!!!
Ok, here is the deal with this record...
When we did the Singles Set (look for them in our other auctions) there were about 60 of the sets that had a black Hope Con / Suicide File split in them. There were also a lot of just very dark grey splits. Most of the black ones went to friends, and the bands, and so on. But, when they started showing up on ebay, people were claiming that the dark grey splits that they had (purchased from our table at Posi #s that year) were actually black. It just wasn't the case. Sure they were CLOSE to black, but since we knew where most of the black copies went, we knew they weren't really.
SO...when we got the records in, and got to the yellow vinyl, we saw that there was a lot of difference between each end of the pressing. They went from a really lemon-y yellow on one end, to the mayonaisse like color you see below. Since they were so close to white(ish) I decided to "stamp" the insides of 15 of the covers, and call this color "Mayo". Basically, we just didn't want people trying to claim that they had a version of a record that they didn't actually have. Unfortunately, the stamp is real hard to see, as it is a red stamper, and the covers are red. But it is there.
All of the "mayo" records were right around this color, and after the first 15, they started getting MUCH darker. So there is your little bit of history for the day.

In the coming weeks, Deathwish will be making its first move in 4 years. In preparation for this, we are cleaning out the closets, cabinets, and shelves. Lots more of those rare records that we held on to gotta go. Test pressings, rare colors, weird in between colors, shirts that never really made it to our closets at home, and stuff that we just have sitting around here (mostly in mail bins, shoved under tables or high up on top shelves.)
