Description
An ultra rare copy of the private press album by the Hopi Klansmen, signed by members Buddy Kooyaquaptewa and Ivan Sidney below their photos on the cover, and inscribed by one of them "To Louis Stanton with all good wishes". We had never seen this album below and copied this description from a previous Ebay listing--apologies to the original author:
Unbelievably rare surf-rock LP by the Hopi Klansmen, four full-blooded Hopi Indian kids from Polacca, Arizona, who formed the group at boarding school in 1959, and then went to Phoenix Indian High School together. Band member Ivan Sidney later had a brief stint as the Hopi Tribes Chairman. This LP is featured in the Acid Archives book of rare garage and psych LPs, and features some great rock and surf covers. The reunited band still performs today as Hopi Clansmen. This is a holy grail of garage and surf-rock collecting that never shows up for sale!
Disc- VG- with many light scuffs, but nothing serious; plays very well and quiet throughout with a few light ticks but no issues otherwise, and no surface noise.
Cover- VG- with clear tape repaired top and spine seam splits, minor moisture staining bottom right corner.
We grade all records visually, cover first, then disc; using the abbreviations M / NM / EX / VG with + and -. We try to describe everything as accurately as possible, and spot check any vinyl flaw that looks like it might make a sound. We regularly receive praise for our grading, but as all grading is subjective, we are happy to give a full refund for anything you aren't happy with no questions asked.
Unlike some eBay sellers, we don't feel the need to hype records by including long reviews or albums, quoting lyrics, making up arcane variations. We just grade accurately, describe any flaw, and sell only high quality rare records in fine condition.
