Perhaps Horace Andy's best album, 1977's IN THE LIGHT serves as a great example of his unique vocal and songwriting abilities. "Do You Like My Music" features slow, deliberate melodies over a wicked rhythm track. Andy works his high-pitched magic on the vocal version, while King Jammy's dub version on the latter part of the disc accentuates the bass and uses appropriately minimalist echo on the sparse vocal shots. Equally powerful are the politically-driven "Government Land" and the social commentary of "Problems."
Although the album has quite a varied line-up, with Leroy Sibbles and Augustus Pablo among the players a treat is bound to be in store.
