The Horace Mann School -- 1964 Mannicord LP

Original 1964 US custom pressing on no label (catalog # RB-332).This is a really unique audio yearbook from the Horace Mann prep school. It presents "a candid picture of school life" through the use of audio tape from many different sources... students, teachers, events, etc. The entire B-side is an artsy attempt to (crudely) tape-splice together a song, "Our Song of 1964", out of random clips of school life mashed-up with a woman singing in German ""Die Moritat von Mackie Messer" ("Mack The Knife")... a la Ernie Kovacs. Some of the splices are other songs being sung or performed by bands, or people yelling and screaming, or bad jokes, or strange found sounds. The whole effect of all this tape-splicing is so jarring at times that you think you could be listening to a Halfer Trio or Nurse With Wound record... truly a bizarre listen.
Andrew Tobias (born 20 April 1947) is an American journalist, author, and columnist. His main body of work is on investment, but he has also written on politics, insurance, and other topics. Since 1999, he has been the treasurer of the Democratic National Committee. CONDITION: Cover NM / Vinyl NM- very close to new, cover is nice and shiny and bright; vinyl is extremely clean, very close to NM. Graded conservatively using Goldmine standards [G / G+ / VG / VG+ / NM / ]grade only used if record is brand new.

Media Mail delivery time is usually anywhere from 4 to 10 days, but occasionally it takes 2 weeks or even longer to reach the West Coast from here. Please consider this potential delay before you decide to go with Media Mail instead of Priority Mail. Priority Mail is a highly recommended option for all vinyl, it's a lot faster and much more secure -- I double-box (and sometimes triple-box) all LP's shipped via Priority Mail. Cost is reasonable and calculated based on your zip code.

All records are packaged securely, protected by both stiff and cushion packaging, with vinyl (in original innersleeve) removed from cover and placed safely in poly sleeve to help prevent seam splitting during transit.
