HORACE PARLAN Speakin My Piece LP Blue Note 1st Filler

Original, very early 1960s Horace Parlan Quintet LP entitled, "Speakin' My Piece."  This is on the Blue Note label BLP-4043 and it is pressed in MONO.  This is the true first pressing with the 'RVG' and 'EAR' stampers in the trailoff on both sides.  Labels are deep grooved and have the 47 West 63rd Street address.  Let me start by saying that this record is NOT in good visual condition; in fact, it is in pretty lousy shape with lots of visible wear.  However, I played the entire LP with my regular Stanton stylus tracked at 1.5 grams and was amazed at how well it played through!  There is obviously clicking and popping throughout and there was one skip during the song "Speakin' My Piece".  But, I found it to be a very acceptable listening experience overall.  These older Blue Note LPs are known to be strong players even when they are in very inferior visual condition.  The labels show plenty of spindle marks, but still look OK.  The original company catalog inner sleeve is still present, but it is a bit tattered.  So, the record is housed in a brand new plain white sleeve.  The cover is in good overall condition.  The front and back both display well.  There is some splitting along the bottom seam and spine, as well as some roughness along the spine.  Obviously, I am offering this rarity as a playable/filler and NOT as an audiophile/investment piece, so please keep this in mind if you choose to bid.  Please review the photos.

INTERNATIONAL (all non-U.S.) BUYERS:   Payment must be by PAYPAL ONLY....I will not accept any other form of payment from buyers located outside the United States. First Class Mail is the cheapest method of international shipping that I offer for LP records; but please be aware there is NO WAY to track these packages once they leave my hands. If you want tracking information, you need to upgrade to Regular Priority Mail or Registered Mail.  I do sometimes require more expensive purchases be sent by Registered Mail to certain locations. The registered fee is listed as “Other” under shipping prices ($26.00 for up to four LP records in a single mailer). Please email me before bidding if you are unsure.

 

I am always happy to offer combined shipping for ALL BUYERS for up to one week from the closing date of the initial purchase. Please do not expect me to hold items for 2 or 3 weeks (or even more) while additional bids are placed. Please try to be considerate of this request when bidding on multiple items on different dates. Combined shipping rates are as follows:

 

Combined shipping for U.S. BUYERS:  I can ship up to four single LP records for a flat $4.00 Media Mail fee (allow 10 to 14 business days for delivery). Above four records, a new mailer will need to be started at the base shipping price.  Double LPs and other types of multiple-record sets do not count as single LPs. If you need faster shipping, please upgrade to Priority Mail.

 

Combined shipping for CANADIAN BUYERS:  First LP is $7.00 (First Class Mail International).  Add $1.00 per additional LP up to four. Above four records, a new mailer will need to be started at the base shipping price.  Double LPs and other types of multiple-record sets do not count as single LPs. 

 

Combined shipping for all other INTERNATIONAL BUYERS:  First LP is $14.00 (First Class Mail International).  Two LPs shipped together is $16.00.  Three LPs shipped together is $20.00.  Four LPs shipped together is $24.00. Above four records, a new mailer will need to be started at the base shipping price.  Double LPs and other types of multiple-record sets do not count as single LPs.

All of my individual LPs are shipped in professionally-designed, cardboard mailers with extra cardboard padding.
