Description
PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY AND DON'T ASSUME CONDITION. We list all details along with accurate grade.
(a) WE GRADE THE VINYL AS EXCELLENT (EXC) very close to NEAR MINT. Under bright light there are some very minor superficial marks (mainly sleeve marks) are VISIBLE, but they appear fairly insignificant relative to the overall condition of the vinyl, and are not visually distracting. The vinyl looks great. The original luster is completely intact, and the vinyl shines and sparkles.
(b) The record is pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!
(c) Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!
(d) We grade the cover as VERY GOOD PLUS PLUS (VG++). Minor shelf ware is present but nothing serious. The spine is in great shape just minor rubbing, see pics. "W. 61st NY" address on inner gatefold. This is a thick cardboard cover, American style.
(e) This is the original mono pressing.
(f) Original blue & white Blue Note Liberty microgroove mono label with blue text.
(g) hand etched matrix numbers in dead wax area.
(h) "VAN GELDER" is machine stamped in deadwax area on both sides indicating the involvement of legendary mastering engineer RUDY VAN GELDER.
See pics for any details and/or defects.
