Horace Silver Quintet/ Six Pieces of Silver  Blue Note BLP 1539. Orig. US mono pressing--deep groove, no R on either side, ear and RGV (script not stamp) on dead wax, both sides, Lexington Ave. address. LP is VG+ with several scratches and sleeve lines on each side. No deep scratches, but there are surface abrasions. Playback retains brightness with moderate surface crackle--more noticeable on quieter tracks on side 2. Cover is only VG with 6 inch clear tape on spine and both seams; wear and smudges on back cover. Early pressing of this jazz classic with Donald Byrd, Hank Mobley, Doug Watkins and Louis Hayes.
