German Sample pressing (Muesterplatte)
1970
The absolute rarity of this album is not to be underestimated. It hardly ever surfaces nowadays, whether as a UK or German version. What is up for auction here is actually even rarer!!!! This is the SAMPLE press for the album in its regular sleeve, but this was only ever sent out to DJ's and not more than 20 to 30 are rumoured to be in existence as a "Muesterplatte" (Sample record). This is just impossibly rare and I doubt whether this will ever come up for auction again!!!
ELUSIVE PROGMONSTER!!!! VINYL IN A UNIQUE EX+ CONDITION!!!
!!!!AN IMPOSSIBLE FIND!!!GORGEOUS EX+!!! A few hundred (rumoured to be around the 800-1000 mark) copies of the regular LP were ever sold!!! This is SOOOOOOOOOOO very rare!!!!!
In all my years this is only the second time I have come across this absolute STUNNER. The rarity of this LP is not to be underestimated!!! Most of these will now be tucked away in major collections across the four corners of the Earth. Only 800-1000 are rumoured to be about. Rare ... anyone?? Sensational sound quality, NO skips or jumps. NO clicks, this is really a stunning heavy vinyl with a beautiful deep gloss. Only two or three very wispy hairlines to be seen. I am being quite fussy. Many sellers would grade this NM. Inspected under an intense lightsource and angled.
I have played this in FULL> The replay is ASTOUNDING!!! I first played for a general listen and a second time for a more in-depth observation. I am very glad to say that there are not any jumps or skips. Unbelievably as it may sound there is hardly any static background noise at all !!! Very remarkable for this 1970 vinyl!!! Great songcraft, no wonder this album is now so sought after. I played this on my Technics turntable with a Linn cartridge and through my very revealing B&W three way speakers!!!
Sleeve: EX. Front and back laminated sleeve. reflections of our net curtain. The sleeve is phenomenal!!! Slight onset of ringwear. a few tiny creases near the edges. Tiny corner "bumps". The spine is fully legible and has the bandname and the catalogue number. Beautiful front cover design by Comus.
This is a unique investment opportunity!!! Finding this album in any condition at all is nearly impossible!!!
Plain white inner.
Labels are NM.
