Description

ULTRA RARE – Original 1933 GLORIA G.O. 10714 78rpm

Authentic first pressing, recorded in Berlin on February 11, 1933, and issued shortly thereafter on the GLORIA label (Carl Lindström A.G.).

A-side: “Die Fahne hoch…” (Horst-Wessel-Lied)
Performed by SS-Musikzug der SS-Standarte 42 with Choir
Directed by Alexander Flessburg

B-side: “Märkische Heide”

This is the earliest and most sought-after version, featuring the song in its full-length arrangement with complete SS choir vocals - not a shortened or instrumental-only issue.

Many copies did not survive the war and post-war years, and original first pressings surface only rarely today.

These early 1933 issues are in strong demand among serious 78rpm and WWII-era collectors and typically do not remain available for long.

If this title is already on your want-list, opportunities like this are rar - passing on it may mean waiting a very long time before another original appears.

CONDITION VJM grading: E- / V+++

The record shows light surface scuffs and minor handling marks typical for a 1933 shellac pressing, but overall presents very well. The “Die Fahne hoch” side has a visible needle run and produces a few brief clicks during playback; however, there is no needle jump, sticking, or groove damage.

Both sides play strongly and clearly with very good volume and presence. Surface noise is moderate and appropriate for its age, but there is no overpowering crackle or distracting defects. For an early 1933 shellac, playback is impressively solid and enjoyable.

A well-preserved example that still delivers excellent sound for its age.
