Up for consideration is a very nice, rare, and original copy of "MAGGIE'S BACK IN TOWN" by HOWARD MCGHEE pressed on the yellow CONTEMPORARY LABEL in 1961. The shiny vinyl shows a lot of luster with a few light scuffs when examined with scrutiny under a bright light. It's labels show no wear and would be considered pristine. They also exhibit the DEEP GROOVE ( DG ) on both sides of the labels. The cover has one major factory made flaw. That being a vertical wrinkle on the front cover pasteover ( which in 30+ years of collecting I have never seen before ).  It is not a crease where the surface would be indented or depressed but the opposite where there is a tiny raising of a surface line which means that the pasteover wasn't totally stretched or applied slightly unevenly at the factory in which a small portion of the surface didn't lay flat on the underlying cardboard ( which created an elevated line or seam like defect ). One will feel a slightly elevated line when touching or or running a finger over the mentioned area.  I would have graded the cover a NM- if not for this manufacturing defect. With it present I grade the the cover as VG++ with the only other blemish being a very small amount of wear against a few parts of the white area on the front cover ( could be light ring wear ). It's seams on all three sides are very nice and it's front cover has a shine which still displays nice coloring for a 58 year old lp!  After researching the lp, I found how few of these are in the marketplace ( ebay, discogs ) and how few have ever been sold (ebay, discogs, popsike).  This rare copy has some of the top JAZZ MUSICANS of the day performing a great BEBOP and POST BEBOP sound!
