Humphrey Lyttelton & His Band – Delving Back With HumphHumphrey Richard Adeane Lyttelton (23 May 1921 - 25 April 2008), also known as Humph, was an English jazz musician and broadcaster from the aristocratic Lyttelton family. Having taught himself the trumpet at school, Lyttelton became a popular figure of the trad jazz revival, leading his own eight-piece band, which recorded a hit single, "Bad Penny Blues", in 1956. As a broadcaster, he presented BBC Radio 2's The Best of Jazz for forty years.
This is a great copy of the hard to find “Delving Back with Humph” album on the collectable Esquire record label. You will be hard pushed to find a better one - final upgrade!!!

The album is on Esquire Records, 32-007. Matrix side one: ELP 598-3 (stamped). Matrix side two: ELP 599 (stamped).
Released in 1955. UK pressing. Mono.

Condition: (as Record Collector’s grading system)
Vinyl side 1: excellent (a few very light superficial marks can only be seen under bright light that do not affect the audio in any way, plays great with no jumps, sticks or clicks and minimal crackle).
Vinyl side 2: excellent (a few very light superficial marks can only be seen under bright light that do not affect the audio in any way, plays great with no jumps, sticks or clicks and minimal crackle).
Cover (front laminated, flip-back): excellent (a few small areas of laminate lift mainly at bottom edge, very light aging/discolouring on back).
Comes with the original flimsy inner sleeve which has a small tear on the bottom edge.
I have tried to give my honest opinion as to the condition. I will give a complete refund to the buyer if they are not happy on return of the record.

RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM:
MINT: I very rarely use the mint grade. Only records that are still sealed or records that even under the strongest of lights are completely unmarked. Also covers that are unmarked/uncreased in any way and still look brand new.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is no lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
