Hampton Hawes / Freddie Redd (John Ore, Ron Jefferson, Larry Bunker, Clarence Jones, Larance Marable) PIANO: EAST / WEST Prestige 7067, recorded 1952/55. Black-on-yellow deep groove original Mono. 446 west 50th Street address on label and jacket. Glossy laminated jacket is E+: a little greying from handling, small fraying on lower spine, large red rubber stamp from retail on reverse. Both sides are spectacularly clean: An uncommonly fine and soundless Prestige pressing, and no sign of play to see or to hear. Wow.
