Hank Marvin: the man who defined the sound of a generation releases his 16th solo album, his first since the Top 10 success of the eponymously titled ‘Hank’ in 2014. Entitled Without A Word the album comprises 14 new recordings all of which given Hank’s interpretation of some of his all-time favourite tunes, along with one new original composition; Russian Doll co-written and recorded with his son Ben. Hank was the very first in the UK to own an iconic Fender Stratocaster – when Cliff Richard imported the guitar from the US exclusively for Hank to play – since when generations of guitar players worldwide cite him as the man that inspired them to pick up their first guitar, a tribute confirmed when he regularly features high on the list of polls that determine the greatest guitarists of all time. His unique sound and subsequent influence on popular music cannot be underestimated. Those having paid tribute to Hank include Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Peter Frampton, George Harrison, Brian May, Pete Townshend, David Gilmour and Mark Knopfler. Without A Word will appeal to fans of all ages and with a targeted promotional and TV advertising campaign leading up to and surpassing Father’s Day, the album is set to be another successful release for the man who created that sound! A full Press, PR and TV advertising campaign is being undertaken for the album’s launch. The album will benefit through TV advertising, with the addition of selected radio and TV interviews and appearances. The album will also enjoy an eight-week pre-release awareness campaign. To support the release of this album, Hank will be flying from his home in Australia for a fortnight, for a series of TV and radio interviews and appearances. A full national radio/TV promotional campaign will take place from mid- May to Mid-June.
