Description
Hank Williams 78 rpm Sterling 210
Offering this rare Sterling 78 recording by Hank Williams. Tracks include: Honky Tonkin/Pan American. I sell very few 78 rpm records so I am not comfortable assigning a grade such as VG, VG+, or NM, so I'll do my best to describe the condition of this record. The spindle hole is not loose or worn as to be sloppy, but as you can see in the photo there is a small area on the "Honky Tonkin" side where the finish on the label has been scraped. Otherwise, both labels are in very nice condition. The record itself shows wear, light scratches, and scuffs about equally on both sides. If this were an LP, I would assign a cosmetic grade of no higher than good. I recorded both sides for my music library and using a modern turntable with a 78 stylus and was pleasantly surprised at the sound quality. Aside from some analog hiss which is present on most 78 recordings, I noticed no serious degradations. Both sides played very well with no skips or major noise problems. In fact, I added the tracks to my library as they were recorded without any cleanup or editing. I would rate the play as VG+. If you are interested in hearing a sample, I cut and pasted samples of both sides on a mp3 track which I can email to you upon request.
