Description
HAWKWIND First Album Orange Vinyl. Brand new and sealed in a groovy gatefold sleeve, this is the special edition re-released for Record Store Day 2015 in translucent orange vinyl in a pressing of just 3000 copies. Hawkwind's historic first album was recorded mostly live utilising large chunks of the 'Sunshine Special' extended jam that constituted a substantial part of their live set at this time bookended by 'Hurry on Sundown' and 'Mirror of Illusion', which both had more traditional song structures. Hailed by some of their fanbase as their best album and hailed by others as certainly the weirdest, it demonstrates the first musical strokes of this legendary band being committed to vinyl. And finally pop pickers, here's the curios fact of the day - the album was produced by ex Rolling Stone and Pretty Things member, Dick Taylor who also contributed guitar.
