Haydn - The Creation
(HMV ASD 409-411 UK 3 LP Box Set 1960)
This is a UK original Stereo 3 LP Box Set pressing. It has a front laminated front to the box which has a circular gold "Stereophonic" sticker on the front. The back board & edges are made of red "leatherette" style hard card. The records come complete with their original company "Emitex" inner sleeves. It also comes complete with its original libretto.
The records are pressed on thick vinyl & have white & gold HMV labels. These are grooved also. They have 1st press 2YRA 1643-1, 2YRA 1644-1, 2YRA 1645-1, 2YRA 1646-1, 2YRA 1647-1 and 2YRA 1648-1 matrix stampers.
Box: There is some light to mild rubbing wear to the corner tips. There is a small stain on the back board - at the bottom opening. There is some light or mild rubbing wear in a few other places. VG++ condition
Vinyl 1: There is a mild warp. It is noticeable when playing Side 1 & hardly notices when playing Side 2. It does not affect play at all. Otherwise, there are some light to mild sleeve rubs which can be seen under a strong light. The polythene inner sleeve has left some light to mild marks on the vinyl in a few areas. VG condition. The labels are in excellent+ condition & show very light spindle wear only. The company inner sleeve is in VG condition. There is some light to mild ringwear & creasing. There is some mild to more moderate fading & foxing. There are no seam splits.
I have fully play tested this LP. It plays VG to VG+ overall & Near Excellent in some places. There is some light, mild or very mild crackle in some quieter places.
Vinyl 2: There is a light to mild warp. It is noticeable when playing Side 3 & hardly notices when playing Side 4. It does not affect play at all. Otherwise, there are some light to very mild sleeve rubs which can be seen under a strong light. The polythene inner sleeve has left some light or very light marks on the vinyl in a few areas. VG+ condition. The labels are in excellent+ condition & show very light spindle wear only. The company inner sleeve is in VG++ condition. There is some light ringwear, fading & minor foxing. There are no seam splits.
