Description
Escorts (Bill Roberts) – “Cajun Queen” b/w “From the Bottom of My Heart” (Lone Wolfe 6301). Great wild rocker from late 1962 on this small label listed out of Cardin, Oklahoma. This was one of only two records released on the label which was actually out of West Kansas City (label owner Jack Wolfe was working the gas fields in Oklahoma during the week and returning to KC on the weekends). According to Wolfe the same week the records arrived he got a call from Roberts letting him know the group had broken up. The cut has been comped on the Dutch LP, “Rock to the Bop” as well as the German Buffalo Bop set, “Flip Flip” and the German set “Nasty Rockabilly #14” bfom B Sharp. This copy looks VG- and has some label damage on one side, but plays much better than it looks – just take a listen. Postage will be paid by purchaser.
