Description
Hear Scarce 1969 New Dawn Oregon Garage 45 (Why Did You Go / Tears)
The New Dawn =- “Why Did You Go” b/w “Tears” (Garland 20230). Great late 1969 two-sider by this group out of Yamhill County, Oregon on the Salem based label and featuring aa heavy organ throughout and a solid beat. The flip is also excellent. The band was composed of Dan Bazzy (Drums, Vocals), Bobby Justen (Bass), Bill Gartner (Vocals, Harmonicia), Joe Smith (Lead Guitar) and Larry Davis (Keyboards, Rhythm Guitar). According to Bazzy, it “was sold in clubs that we were playing at. It was never promoted. Some of the local radio stations in towns we were performing in did play the record and it seemed to get a pretty good response.” Several copies were lost, making for the rarity. Take a listen. Record is in strong VG+ to M- condition.
