Mel-Lon 1000 by Jackie Brenston with Earl Hookers Band: Down In My Heart b/w Want You To Rock Me. Mel London's label; the 1000 number seems to indicate this is the first (and only?) release. The guitarist on I Want You To Rock Me sounds so much like Robert Nighthawk, even though we know that Earl Hooker could mimic many different guitarists, this slide player hits the notes exactly in the middle, just like Nighthawk, and the phrasing is similar to Annie Lee, Sweet Black Angel, and also some of the tracks on Live On Maxwell Street.  You be the judge.  Labels see photos. This has been shuffled around and dealt out of the pile onto the turntable ,many, many times. Vinyl is smooth to the touch, no digs or gouges, but there is an even, consistent layer of fine brush marks, hairlines, and scuffs on both sides. Visual grade VG-, plays better.  Please listen to the sound clips.

This computer only records 60 seconds at a time so you may hear a jump in the music when the recording button is hit again after one, two or three minutes, but this record does not skip.
