Description
Herbie Hancock - Inventions and Dimensions - Blue Note 4147 VG+/+
NOTE: Item sold for $265 last week but buyer never paid and did not contact me, so I'm offering it here as a second chance.
Very nice original mono pressing. Vinyl is strong VG+ to VG++ with only paper scuffing. Cover is also very nice, with a dinged corner and peculiar pasting of the back slip. I think you'll be quite happy with this record.
$4 media mail in US. Int'l shipping $24. Will combine shipping for multiple items. I cannot alter customs forms, however, so please be aware of your country's fees before bidding.
Question:
Are there any spindle marks near the spindle hole?Thank You
There is some light spindle wear; almost none on side 1, and some more on side 2. My estimate is that the record was listened to somewhere between 10 and 20 times by the looks of it. Certainly not NM, but I listened to it again and can tell you it has that exciting Blue Note sound that you only get on these pressings.
Question:
Is there Ear marking and RVG engraved on both sides of the dead wax part? This is the pressing listed on Discogs as pressed in 1964 with the following notes:
Recorded on August 30, 1963.
1. No Deep Groove labels on both sides
2. Address on labels is New York USA
3. Address on back cover is 43 West 31st St., New York 23
5. Deadwax area has the VAN GELDER stamp; the cat.nr. is hand etched
6. Front cover is not laminated
7. No Plastylite logo "ear"
There seems to be some debate about the pressing, whether it is from 1964 or 1966, when Liberty bought Blue Note and re-released a lot of obscure titles with original labels and in mono. These pressings are invariably excellent quality, but I do not know which year it is from.
